VEKA’s Paul Armstrong passes the baton

December 19, 2023

VEKA plc announces the retirement of esteemed Board member, Operations Director, Paul Armstrong, effective at the end of the year.

Paul Armstrong, who has been with VEKA since 2013, has announced his retirement after a decade of dedicated service. Before joining VEKA, Paul honed his skills in the aerospace industry, working for BAe Systems before a significant 15-year tenure at Safran Aircelle. His journey with VEKA began when the VEKA business had doubled in size following the acquisition of a major competitor and significant change was needed.

Reflecting on his time at VEKA, Paul said, “Joining VEKA was a milestone in my career. I’ve witnessed and contributed to numerous developments, including the significant growth of lamination leading to the purchase of a new lamination facility along with two firsts for the VEKA Group with a single piece / MTO lamination line and a dual side lamination line increasing capacity and production efficiencies.” He added “It’s a great feeling to be leaving the business in such a strong position and also in capable hands, but of course I will miss the people very much.”

Paul Armstrong will be succeeded by Adam Burrows, with whom he has been working collaboratively for several months. A seasoned professional with over 25 years of experience in engineering and manufacturing, primarily in the aerospace sector with Rolls Royce, from where he joined VEKA earlier this year. Adam’s expertise in lean principles and his commitment to operational efficiency make him an ideal successor to continue VEKA’s legacy of excellence.

Adam Burrows commented on his new role, “It’s an honour to follow in Paul’s footsteps. My focus will be on maintaining VEKA’s high standards in customer satisfaction and leading the operational aspects of VEKA’s future strategy. I’m committed to nurturing our engineering talent and driving forward our mission for operational excellence and sustainable growth.”

Neil Evans, Managing Director of VEKA, extends his heartfelt thanks to Paul Armstrong for his invaluable contributions. “Paul has been instrumental in shaping VEKA into the industry leader it is today. His dedication, expertise, and leadership have left an indelible mark on our company. As we bid him farewell, we also look forward with excitement to the fresh perspective and ideas that Adam will bring to the role. On behalf of everyone at VEKA, I wish Paul the very best in his retirement.”

VEKA plc remains committed to its core values of innovation, quality, and customer service as it continues to lead in the PVC-U profile systems industry.
