VEKA Hosts its Annual Diamond Awards to Honour Team Achievements in 2023

VEKA plc, the world’s largest manufacturer of PVCu systems and one of Burnley’s biggest employers, proudly celebrated its annual VEKA Diamond Awards at Burnley Football Club last week. This prestigious event, which is pivotal in recognising and celebrating the exceptional achievements of VEKA’s workforce, showcased the company’s commitment to acknowledging the hard work and dedication of its employees.

A cornerstone event in the company’s calendar, the Diamond Award nominees are submitted by their colleagues, with the shortlist for each category selected by the Board of Directors. The winners are then decided through anonymous votes from the Board, ensuring a fair and unbiased selection process.

The awards night was a vibrant celebration of talent and dedication across various categories:

  • ACT Champion: Bruno Simpson was recognised for embodying VEKA’s values with a positive and ambitious approach, fostering a sense of responsibility and displaying a promising future at VEKA.
  • Going the Extra Mile: Marcin Papuga, known for his quick response, and friendly, helpful nature, won for his unwavering commitment and determination to excel beyond his regular duties.
  • Outstanding Accomplishment: Helen Jones was lauded for her passion, commitment, and professional insight, making significant contributions to the business and preparing for upcoming product launches.
  • Rising Star: Laura Crosland emerged as the winner in this category, recognised for her exceptional potential, maturity, and dedication in her role.
  • Future Thinker Award: Pete Eatough was honoured for his forward-thinking approach, commitment to innovation, and ability to simplify complex issues.
  • The People’s Choice Award: Martin White, known for his work ethic, deep knowledge, and loyalty, was the clear choice for this accolade for consistently demonstrating excellence across multiple categories.
  • VEKA Excellence Award: Matthew Adaway was awarded for his remarkable all-around performance, enthusiasm, commitment, and significant contribution to the company’s growth.
