Stevenswood makes London Stock Exchange Group’s Top 1,000 for 2016

Described by the LSEG as “an annual celebration of some of the fastest-growing and most dynamic small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the UK”, the report – now in its third year – is supported by numerous senior politicians including the Chancellor, George Osborne MP, with media partnership from industry-championing national newspaper, The Daily Telegraph.
Only 56 Scottish companies, and 104 from the manufacturing sector throughout the UK made the list, further highlighting the prowess of Stevenswood’s achievements over those of its peers.
Managing Director, Ron Hepburn commented: “To be listed in the report is reliant on a business’ performance over the last four years – a period of significant growth for Stevenswood – and we’re thrilled to have our accomplishments recognised by such a prominent exponent of UK enterprise.
“2014 saw us relocate to a new five-acre home, streamlining our manufacturing, with all processes now taking place under one roof. Capacity more than doubled within months of the move, comfortably making us Scotland’s premier trade fabricator and one of the UK’s top 30.
“Early last year, we secured £3.5m investment from the Business Growth Fund (BGF), enabling us to further expand production and double our trade counters throughout Scotland from 6 to 12. Thanks to the capital that the BGF invested, sales grew by 23% in the 12 months to 31st October 2015, and we now plan to open 10 additional trade counters in 2016.”
The boost in production and sales has been reflected in Stevenswood’s employment figures, with 60 new jobs created since the BGF’s investment, taking the company’s total workforce up to 158.

Our main market remains the loyal tradespeople we have built up over the years, but increasingly we’re working with homeowners who want to ‘do it themselves’ too.
