Padiham Glass’ Millionth IGU Installed in a VEKA System by Long-Standing Customer, Darwen Windows

VEKA Approved Fabricator, Darwen Windows was the lucky recipient of the milestone IGU, with MD Bill Ainsworth collecting a complimentary magnum of champagne as part of the celebration!

“Besides the bubbly,” Bill commented, “I’m very happy that Darwen Windows had the honour of installing this landmark IGU from Padiham Glass. Anthony Clarkson, MD at Padiham Glass explains that, in fact, the IGU in question was the millionth unit to be produced by just one of the company’s three production lines: “A visiting analyst pointed out that our automated Edgetech SuperSpacer line was close to producing its millionth unit and, understandably, there was quite a buzz on the shop floor as we waited to see whose order it would fall on!

“It seemed fitting that Darwen Windows was the client as they are one of our longest-standing customers, having worked with us for around 25 years. It also prompted us to estimate how many IGUs we had produced in total, taking all three production lines into account. The conservative figure we arrived at was around the 5.5 million mark!”

Coming just a month into Padiham Glass’ 35th anniversary year, its millionth IGU has been installed as part of Darwen Windows’ contract at West End School in nearby Oswaldtwistle.

Bill continues: “The past year has been an exciting one for us, undergoing a major rebranding and launching a new website and social media presence to get the Darwen Windows brand ‘out there’ and recognised as a symbol of quality. We’ve taken on two extra staff and hope to continue our growth throughout 2015.
